Warm Welcome to Nedenia Bonvino Stafuzza
First week of spring was very cold in Athens, GA, but we got a cheerful visitor from Brazil. We would like to give a warm welcome to Nedenia Bonvino Stafuzza, an enthusiastic Scientist.
Nednia had keeping strong motivation to study in UGA for many years. After she got her first Post doc in Molecular Biology at São Paulo State University (UNESP), she got a Postdoc fellowship from CAPES/PNPD to work with Animal Breeding and Genetics. She expressed a desire to improve her knowledge about Quantitative Genetics in foreign country for one year. Then, there was an only place in her mind. “I wanted to learn at the best place and this is it! The UGA animal breeding and genetics group is very well known among animal breeders across the world.”
While Nedenia misses her pet cat, Junior, in Brazil, enjoys her life in new town. “ I love Athens! It is a small city and very safe. I am very comfortable to live here and love to shop at the big American super markets.” She is going to expand knowledge in Animal breeding, but her life will be full of new experience in Athens.
