Congratulations to Dr. Zuleica Trujano

Zuleica Trujano successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation, “Efficient Strategies for Estimating Genetic Parameters and Breeding Values Using Large Genomic Data,” on November 19th. She completed projects focused on assessing the impact of genomic selection by evaluating genetic parameters over time using variance component estimation, as well as Ignacy’s formulas through predictivity. During her Ph.D. studies, she completed an internship with the American Angus Association and won the Bayer | UGA 2025 Hackathon. Her next career step will be joining the Animal Breeding and Genetics Group at UGA as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
