On May 4–22, the group hosted a short course, “Programming and Computer Algorithms in Animal Breeding with Focus on Single-Step GBLUP and Genomic Selection in Practice.” The course was attended by 70 participants from 9 countries: the United States, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Canada, Taiwan, Paraguay, Denmark, and South Korea. Aside from classes, the course featured lunches catered by different restaurants, as well as an evening social event. The course concluded with a gala dinner at the botanical garden featuring a Dixie band.
