The UGA Animal Breeding and Genetics Group recently hosted the Symposium
‘A single-Step Toward the Future’ to honor the storied career of Ignacy Misztal. His
family joined accomplished speakers and researchers from around the globe. Together
they told stories, shared insights, and planned for the future of Animal Breeding and
Genetics. Many of the greatest minds of the last 35 years have had interwoven careers
and collaborated to accomplish their greatest achievements. This was a chance for
them to pass their legacy on to the next generation of Animal Breeders, as one of the
last titans of the industry retires. The collaboration between leading industry
professionals and distinguished academics was seamless, united by a shared goal of
celebrating the legendary career of Ignacy Misztal.
